Okay, here are some more people... and a puppy for good measure. You may recognize a few faces, although Annelise doesn't really look like Annelise. I miss you guys. Anyway, these represent me still working things out and experimenting. We'll see where it all leads, but in the mean time I'm having fun with it. More to come soon... I'm working on a larger scale, finished piece now as well as additional sketches.

Making up for lack of comment before. These are awesome. You are awesome. Stop being awesome. This is such a great deviation from your older stuff that doesn't lose its inherent you-ness. It feels like more of an evolutionary step than a complete reinvention.
ReplyDeleteAnd actually, I think Annelise looks very Annelise-y; even if it isn't a 100% likeness of her, the expression and demeanor of the portrait nails her personality to a t.
PS. Can I also address how you made Annelise and I look borderline mentally challenged and Brendan look like a scruffy Adonis? I'm not saying he's not (hey boo), but dammit Christina! We're pretty too...right? RIGHT?!
chad - you and i are mentally retarded.. just deal with it. :-p christina.. i like them.. what i think you will need is an incredibly busy, detailed final image - meaning many objects and people and environment.. otherwise i think the random patterning almost lacks justification. BUT if you are using it as a motif to create a patterned piece, then i think that would be dope. that would be time consuming tho.. :(
