Alright friends, sketch achieved. This is supposed to represent my basic values and color, and solid composition. Any last min crits on the above before I jump into painting? I'm trying oils! *gasp* wish me luck!

ReplyDeleteMayhap one suggestion: In the first of your original sketches, you have the soldiers in the foreground with their backs to the viewer. I think you should incorporate that idea into this image in some capacity to give context. That way it would read more clearly as 'soldiers discovering a dude in a puddle' rather than just 'dude in a puddle'.
Otherwise, even as a basic color comp, it's looking splendid. Good luck with oils, dear friend! You are a braver man than I.
