Love love love!! This new direction your work is taking is wonderful! I really like the line work with limited color. You've found a good balance there between your graphite/ line and your pastel/ color. My favorite is the last one - the lady holding a plate of steaming hot... cookies? I like that it has both b/w areas and colored focal points. And you didn't overwork the color which you have a tendency to do. Simpler is definitely better for you because it lets the delightful character of your drawing style speak for itself. These sketches show a sophistication in the way that everything seems very deliberately done (every line, every color choice, placement of color, etc.). Deliberate simplicity. All of them are wonderful, but again, my favorite is the last one... I'd like to see your work keep going in that direction. It's charming and I think the style/ approach will lend itself to just about any content. Great job Annelise! I'm a bit jealous,
